While I admire people who can bold a pretty dress for the holidays, I would choose pants over a dress any day. When I go out to parties, I tend to gravitate towards pants because dresses make me feel uncomfortable. Perhaps, being a girly girl doesn't suit me like it used years ago. But this is how I know that my style is evolving. Now, I love classic and staple pieces, which is one of the biggest reasons why I buy a lot of investment items.

Personally, I cannot stand a regular blazer because it looks way too corporate for my taste. A velvet blazer, on the other hand, is just right up my alley. Something about the texture and subtle sheen to it that I love. It's also perfect for the holidays in my opinion. I paired it with a striped crop top to streamline my waist and a pair of trousers for a more classic look. Topped it all off with my key investment pieces like the wallet (that can act as a clutch) and my heels (that add a nice pop of red for the holidays).

I hope you enjoyed my take on some classics!
