NYFW // Collina Strada A/W '16

I had the pleasure of attending Collina Strada A/W '16 presentation at The Standard on Day 3 of NYFW. Being able to see her collection in person was amazing. I loved a lot of the details in her collection -- the raw edges, metal pin holes, unfinished sleeves, muled slippers, and the oversized effortless vibes.

One of the biggest things that stood out to me, which you may or may not have noticed, was the idea of androgyny and genderless associations. Not only am I floored by her craftsmenship and design, but the meaning behind it all. While Collina Strada is a womenswear brand, but male and female models were casted to represent her collection. It's no longer about traditional fashion. Gender has no boundaries and through her clothes, anyone, independent of gender, can embody whoever they wish to be.
