NYFW // Eyelet Dresses

It's crazy to think that there was a polar vortex during NYFW last week and this week feels like a spring day. I definitely wouldn't have made it through the cold (or NYFW madness for that matter) without my blogger half, Areta of Areta's Style Secrets. A huge shout out to my girl for being there for me since day 1 of my blogging adventure -- so glad we were able to tackle NYFW together.

Anyways, I remember Areta and I have always wanted to style a cohesive look together, but that plan always fell short. However, this season at an event, we had the pleasure of picking out pieces that we really liked to style and shoot. Surprisingly, we both gravitated towards these beautiful eyelet pieces. I've been giving a lot of love to midi dresses lately (as seen here and here), so it was only right that I picked this dress out as well. The intricate eyelet detailing was so beautiful, I couldn't say no to it.

Although this dress originally comes with a mesh slip underneath, I knew I had to style it in a way that was weather appropriate. I'm not going to lie -- it took me a while to figure it out. However, when it all came together, I knew I was set. I opted for a pair of knit culottes underneath, which really made the white eyelet detailing pop against the black. I threw on my burgundy suede jacket, which is one of my current faves. Of course, nothing looks more chic than a pair of heels.

You can already tell from the pieces we picked, our styles aren't exactly the same. Make sure you check out Areta's Style Secrets for her outfit details and more photos! We even joked about blogging together. I guess this would be a glimpse of what it would look like if it really did happen! What do you guys think? Should we make the merge?
