NYFW // Little White Dress

There's a few things to remember when attending fall/winter NYFW shows. It's going to be freezing and you need to ditch practicality because it's all about fashuunnnn after all. The first day of NYFW happened to be the "warmest" day of the week. I had a whole week of outfits prepared but decided it was only right to give attention to a beautiful little white midi dress I received from Talis Collection. The dress is definitely a statement piece but I was determined to style this summer dress in a more weather appropriate way.

I was really drawn to this dress because of its beautiful silhouette. The top crosses in the front, exposing some skin -- perhaps a little more than I'm comfortable with but because it was cold, I knew that would not be a problem. Here's where the layering gets fun! When I felt bold, I tied my button down around my waist, and when I felt cold or a little more conservative, I just buttoned the top few buttons (you can get a better look of what I mean on my Instagram).

I paired this little white midi dress with a little new furry friend from Topshop. It makes the right amount of statement without having too much of a furry situation. I don't think I can ever wear a full faux fur coat, so I was really happy when I found a chic and edgy clutch that had fur on it. On my wrist, I dawned a wrist bandana. Because I had a lot of blue going on in my outfit, I opted for its complementary color -- orange. It's actually a twilly from Hermes, but I've repurposed it for a much needed pop of color and detail to my outfit. I made every detail count for my day 1 NYFW outfit and I hope it shows.

If you saw my last post, you can tell I'm giving a lot of love to midi dresses this past month! I also  have something a little different and special coming soon, featuring another midi dress I fell in love with.. Stay tuned and until next time, loves!
